# Credit register datasets — asic-credit

> ASIC's credit representative and licensee registers, joined, normalised and enriched. Change feed, one slice, or full snapshot.

## The registers, prepared

Everything on this site is free to read. What is sold is the work of joining two registers, flagging the defunct schemes, and keeping the difference between one collection and the next.

The pages of this site are free and will stay free : **an official fact belongs to no one**. What is sold here is the compilation work — extracting ASIC's credit representative and licensee registers, reconciling it, dating it, and delivering it in a usable form.

### Here, the flow is not a nicety — it is the only history that exists

ASIC publishes **current appointments only**. There is no
ceased-appointment record, anywhere. When a broker moves licensee or leaves the
industry, the row simply disappears from the next publication.

That makes the change feed the whole product on this register: **the
only way to know a broker was appointed last quarter is to have kept last
quarter's file**. We keep every collection from 2026-08-19 on and
deliver the differences.

⚠️ We publish no monthly rate of new appointments. With no
departures recorded, any rate computed from a single snapshot would be
meaningless.

- **Change feed — AUD 300 / month**Or AUD 2 900 a year. At every collection, what came in, went out or changed since the previous one. This is the part that does not age.
- **One slice — AUD 90 / month**The feed restricted to a single licensee or state, for those who do not need the rest.
- **Full snapshot — AUD 3 900, once**The state of the register on the day of delivery, every field included. Listed last on purpose : a snapshot ages.

### What you get, field by field

*Fields delivered and fill rate, measured on the rows actually delivered — not estimated*

| Field | Description | Filled |
|---|---|---|
| `representative_number` | The key, as ASIC records it. | 100.0 % |
| `representative_name` | As recorded. | 100.0 % |
| `licensee_number` | The credit licence they are appointed under. | 100.0 % |
| `licensee_name` | ⚠️ Joined from the licensee register — the source gives only the number on the representative row. | 100.0 % |
| `licensee_business_names` | ⚠️ The names the licensee trades under, from the licensee register. | 34.3 % |
| `licensee_afsl` | ⚠️ Its AFS licence number — the bridge to the financial advisers register. | 100.0 % |
| `appointed_since` | Start date of the appointment. | 100.0 % |
| `complaints_scheme` | The EDR scheme recorded. | 93.4 % |
| `scheme_defunct` | ⚠️ Whether that scheme was merged into AFCA in 2018 — a flag the source does not carry. | 100.0 % |
| `locality_normalised` | ⚠️ The business locality, normalised. | 99.0 % |
| `state` | State or territory. | 99.0 % |
| `one_row_per_representative` | ⚠️ 47,741 source rows deduplicated to 47,127 representatives. | 100.0 % |

The 6 fields marked ⚠️ **do not exist in the source** : we add them — a join, a normalisation, or a reconstructed history. That is the part a buyer cannot reproduce by downloading the official file.

The marked fields are the reason to buy rather than fetch. The
representative file carries a licence *number* and nothing else — the
name, the business names and the AFS licence all come from joining the second
register. And the defunct-scheme flag exists nowhere in the source: it comes
from knowing that FOS, COSL and CIO were merged into AFCA on 1 November 2018,
which 2,595 rows have not caught up with.
