About this site
A search layer over two public registers. Not the registers themselves, not credit advice, and not a recommendation.
The source
Everything here comes from ASIC's Credit Representative Dataset and its Credit Licensee Dataset, published on data.gov.au under CC-BY 3.0 AU and collected on 2026-08-19 through the portal's own API.
47,741 representative rows became 47,127 representatives, joined to 4,347 licensees.
⚠️ The limit that shapes everything here
CRED_REP_END_DT is empty on every one of the 47,741
rows. ASIC publishes current appointments only; there is no ceased
record to find.
So this site can tell you that someone is an appointed credit representative. It cannot tell you that someone was, or that they stopped — and neither can ASIC's own register. Absence is not evidence of anything: a broker may hold a licence in their own right, or may have moved last week.
The complaints scheme finding
AFCA replaced FOS, CIO and the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal on 1 November 2018. 2,595 entries on this register still name one of the closed schemes, and 3,108 name none.
We publish that, and we say what we think it means: a register line that was never refreshed. It is not evidence that a broker lacks cover — membership of AFCA is a condition of appointment. But a consumer acting on the name they read would write to a body that no longer exists, which is worth knowing.
What this site is not
- Not credit advice, and not a recommendation of anyone.
- Not the official register. For anything that matters, use ASIC's own registers.
- Not affiliated with ASIC or the Australian Government.
- Not a broker. We hold no product and take no commission.
